Misled!

Well, we were led astray by  Karen on June 11th!  She wrote  "Summer is here" - so today we await a rain storm complete with snow in the mountains.  (Just to be fair - the temp is supposed to be 100 plus by the 4th.)  (Also on the fair line, the temp will be 70 plus here.)

How about this?

Karen gave this painting to me on Mother's Day - this picture does not do the painting justice. She has a picture of Russ's cabin that she used for inspiration. As far as I know, this is her first painting. Needless to say, I truly love it and am so fortunate to have it hanging in my "house". Hopefully, Karen will take brush in hand many more times.

Yum,yum the second

My one and only "Yum, yum" blog brought in six comments.  I am not making cranberry scones today but I am making chicken soup and intend to add dumplings to the soup and that should add up to a "Yum,yum" dinner.
And I plan to make something quite yum, yummy for the big event on Moody Ridge Saturday - as yet I have not come up with the perfect recipe for whatever.  (If whatever it is does not qualify I will make sure that no one identifies my humble offering.)

Yum, yum!

During the absolutely wonderful journey with Rich I had cranberry scones for breakfast the three mornings we were in Bishop.  So, I decided that I too could make cranberry scones and got up this morning and did it!  So, after getting comfortable with my coffee and nice hot cranberry scones I called Rich to see if he could guess what I was eating for breakfast - he couldn't!  It does seem that my enchantment with the cranberry scones in Bishop did not make a lasting impression on him - unbelievable - right?

My head is hanging low - very low!

So off I went yesterday morning for my 11:00 Tai Chi class.  Whoops, the beginners class was at ten!  So I went to the registration desk to determine what to do and am now a Mon/Wed ten in the morning beginner.  My Chernobyl class starts at 1:30 PM and I decided to wait and sort of wandered hither and yon and sat and stared into space etc. wishing the time would fly faster.  At some point I decided to figure out my confusion re TaiChi and while at it I checked out Chernobyl.  Another whoops - it is only held on two Weds. and those are June 22nd and 29th.  Another prime example of "Gramcie's Brilliant FOOLISHNESS" - I do manage to live up to my reputation. (Actually, Greg, you can always blame me for filing the wrong final day in your noggin - what a great inheritance!")

Nutz!

Best laid plans - ugh!  It looks like summer will be over (or nearly over) before I will be in real training to be a hospital volunteer.  In three weeks there will be a second meeting for the potential volunteers who were there yesterday.  If I am approved at that point I have to have a TB test - two weeks later I go back to have that one looked at and then have a second TB test and wait another two weeks.  I think that if I am found TBless that I can then begin training which would take up to four weeks - who knows what else lurks in the hospital woodwork.  It is an amazing place - easy to get lost(as I did, yesterday) as there are so many buildings.
So, I should get busy and seek other possibilities.  Tomorrow I will hopefully start TaiChi and my Chernobyl classess - that will be good, I think!

Oh Happy Day

Rafael Nadal won the French Open - I started suffering at six this morning!  That is tennis, by the way!

Other news - hmmmmm - well, I am going to the grocery store today.  Tomorrow I start the process of becoming a volunteer at The Roseville Hospital - it is one of several that are in the group that Rich's hospital is also in.  I should start Tai Chi tomorrow also, but, I may not depart from the hospital soon enough to get to that class.

Terry's snake has survived a great deal of sort of tender love - it went to school three days.

And so it goes - other than I look forward to non-rain days.
